Our neighbors Fred and Millie told us about the Tinkertown Museum only 20 miles from here and what an unusual museum it is located off Hwy 14 on Hwy 536. So glad they recommended as it is unbelievable.
It took Ross Ward beginning in 1962 over 40 years to carve, collect and construct the museum. Today over 50,000 glass bottles form the walls surrounding the 22 room museum. Wagon wheels, pioneer store fronts and wacky memorabilia make it a wondrous display. The museum with its animation, exhibits inspire your imagination. It is awe inspiring to try and understand how he was able to build such a museum.
Unfortunately Mr Ward passed away in from early onset Alzheimer's at age 62 in 2002. Today his wife and family run the museum which has grown from 943 visitors in 1983 to over 20,000 a season. Put this on your list if in the Albuquerque area.

Below are just a few pictures of the many exhibits.
