Our drive of 275 miles down IH 90 and IH 25 took us to Casper,Wy and our campsite for 3 nights at the KOA. A nice campground located just off the IH 25. Last time here in 2010 we stayed at the Ft Casper campground and definitely made the better choice this time. Small campground, quiet and graveled. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.
On our last visit we toured many of the Historic sites and forts. If interested in reading about my blogs you can go to my site and enter Previous Blog then go to archive and scroll down to June 2010. Very interesting info.
This time we wanted to see some areas we missed previously such as Historic Trails Interpretive Center, Rotary Park and Fremont Canyon. We also revisited Fort Casper.

On our drive to Rotary Park to see the waterfalls, we thought it was on Casper Mountain only to find it was at the base. Drive up the mountain was slow and winding affording nice views of the Valley. We finally found the park and walked to the Garden Creek Waterfalls..about 1/2 mile from the lower parking area. There are several more arduous hiking trails, but we took the easiest. This is the most scenic park in Casper. The most popular hiking trail is the Bridal Trail 5 mile loop and rises 1200 ft giving you good views of Casper, the falls and countryside.

We then returned to Casper to tour the Historic Trail Interpretive Center. Will write separate blog on this.
