Today we drove to Deception SP to the North Beach Parking Lot for the hike up to the bridge. It is just a short 15 minute drive from the campground. Deception Pass is a strait separating Whidbey Island from Fidalgo Island connecting Skagit Bay and Juan de Fuca Strait..part of Puget Sound. For a more historical explanation of the area suggest you go to wikipedia.

The Bridge was completed in 1935 and over 20,000 vehicles cross over the bridge 180 feet above the water today. It is the most visited park in Washington. There is a parking lot on the south side and you can walk the bridge for magnificent views.

The hike takes you among age old spruce pine and off the path toward the bottom is a path to the beach that seems to be a popular fishing area.
