29 JULY 2018
Today we drove up to Roadmaster in Vancouver,WA to have the tow bar installed for the 2016 Malibu. Since we have a 730AM appointment on the 30th, we had to dry camp in their parking lot. Guaranty was unable to do the install and we are glad as this is a job for the professionals. Trevor spent over 7 hours and did a great job. This tow mechanism is different as the Malibu is newer with more electronics that our 2003. Thank you Trevor. If you want something done right, you go to the professionals. Trevor has been with Roadmaster for over 15 years.
We departed for Redmond, OR around 400PM for the 4 hour drive. Instead of coming back through Sandy we opted for the scenic route with less traffic going up the Columbia Gorge until Hood River and then taking hwy 35 to 26 at Mt Hood and then hwy 97 at Madras.
Weather is still unbearably hot. Looking forward to our 2 weeks at Washington Coast with 60's and low 70's.
Our stay here with Hope and family has been nice and have enjoyed grandsons and visits. John has managed to do many repairs on Motorhome that would not be possible in a campground. Trips to Lowe's, Amazon orders and local RV Country has afforded the many items needed for his jobs. So thankful he is able to do these tasks.
Some of his jobs included painting the white A/C cover black, lubricating the slides and steps, changing the generator oil, changing the black and gray tank valves, washing and waxing the motorhome and other small chores.
I had Stanley Steamer come in and clean the carpets, floor and upholstery . They do a good job and I have them at least once a year. They also replaced door mat which is guaranteed for life. With do much use, it does tend to wear, but it is only type I would recommend..never blows away and is good for getting dirt off shoes.
The Deschutes County Fair is 1-5 August and will write blog about that.
After our 2 weeks on Washington Coast, we will return on 24th until 7th..
