Our Next Stop-Grayland,WA & Kenanna RV Park

06 August 2018

Today we drove to Grayland WA on the coast to escape the 100 heat and our home for the next 13 nights, Kenanna RV park.
A quiet park with grassy sites and 30amp. Satellite and MIFI work good, owners very nice and from what I could see in driving around, one of the nicer parks in this area.

Before we got started, John has issue with hooking up the tow for the first time with this car. Kept getting a beeping sound like the door was open. So after around an hour trying different things, he finally figured it out. Since this car has more computerized systems, because he had the door open when connecting brakemaster etc, the system when he closed the door thought it was still open. So he did everything with door closed and the beeping stopped. The old car was so simple.

In driving down 97 a truck pulled up beside us and gave the smoking signal and pointed to the car. We pulled over and sure enough the brakes were smoking. John repositioned the brakemaster and everything was fine. Two things we weren't told during the install.

Our drive today took us Hwy 97 to 26 to 35 through Hood River and IH 84. We stopped at Camping World to purchased a new 50amp surge protector. We then took 205 to IH 5 north and exiting at Chehalis on Hwy 6 to 105.

Nice to be in 60-65 weather. Even though the campground is not on the beach, it is only a short drive via several different roads. Foggy in the mornings and evenings. This will be a pretty much do nothing stay with maybe a drive down to Cape Disappointment SP which we visited several years ago.

Our next stop will be Copalis Beach and Driftwood RV Park only 50 miles north for 5 nights before returning to Oregon on 24th for 2 weeks.
