Our blog is to keep family and friends informed of our motorhome journeys.
We have dreamed of this for many years and finally our dream has come true.
We are looking forward to many happy miles ahead.

Arrival Hanscom AFB Campground

13 May 2018

To our girls and friends, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY. We are so proud of the Mother's our daughters and daughter in-law have become to our grandchildren. You have set a guiding example for them filled with love, affection. direction and discipline. Thank you for your phone calls.

John gave me a beautiful card. Thank you, Dear.

Before leaving Fourth Cliff which is Hanscom's Rec area campground, took some pictures of the erosion over the past several years. Awful..only 4 sites are available for use as others are considered unsafe. Not sure if the will ever recover. Heard that they are trying to sell to the town of Scituate, but this could just be rumor. $40/nt a bit expensive for a view of Atlantic.

A short drive from Fourth Cliff to Hanscom AFB near Bedford, MA. This is our second visit since June of 2013. Hanscom is part of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center managing Air Force weapon systems. This  is a non flying base and the air field is used primarily by civilian aviation who operate the runways and airfield. Only one percent of the air traffic is military.

This campground does not take reservations and the maximum stay is 30 days. Upon arrival we chose site #46 and after getting settled drove over to the commissary for groceries and gas. The cost is $26/day with full hookups. The campground is off base and next to the airfield.

We will be staying here until the 25th when we move up  to Hermon, ME for 4 nights, then on to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and finally Newfoundland for the summer.
