Our blog is to keep family and friends informed of our motorhome journeys.
We have dreamed of this for many years and finally our dream has come true.
We are looking forward to many happy miles ahead.

Friends, Chores and Anniversary

12 October 2017

7 October 2017

Today we met Rose Mary, Chuck and their son Carl at Suncoast to see "Victoria and Abdul". It is a very good movie and highly recommend. We have been following the Queen Victoria series on PBS and find her life and reign very interesting. Afterward we went to the Red Rock for dinner at the "Yardstick". We had a nice visit and to our surprise, Carl treated us to dinner. You are most generous, Carl , and we thank you. It sure was a fun evening.

Earlier in the week, we had the iHome washed and John spent 2 days waxing it only to have a windstorm blow in and putting a film of dust over it.  It has also been a week of chores.

We got the flag setup that our friend, Phil, highly recommended. After struggling for 8 years with different flag poles, this is a sure thing using suction cups. No more climbing the ladder and it can be positioned to your site. What a great idea. The company is Gostik.com. Thank you Phil. He also recommended a product for cleaning the headlights, chrome and other lights called FLITZ. He gave us a demonstration and John ordered the kit.

Eric sent us some photos from the 5K Bubble run in Austin that he and granddaughter Parker participated. Good job family.

Finally got the old Apple laptop ready to send to Cade.Had to take it to Apple in Summerlin to have an OS installed. We had erased data, but unable to install OS. Those geni;us bar techs are so smart.

Today is our Anniversary. It has been a very good journey and so thankful that we have each other. Looking forward to many more years of love and journeys together. We are blessed with family, friends and experiences.

Leaving Pt Mugu and Arrival at Nelliis AFB FAMCAMP Las Vegas

28 September 2017

This morning we departed Pt Mugu NAS for Nellis AFB in Las Vegas...about 330 miles via 101 to 210 to 15. Traffic was horrible and added an extra 1 1/2 hrs to trip.  Below are some final shots of Pacific and seals.

The day before we left, we walked the pier in Port Hueneme and visited the memorial for Alaska Fight 201 that crashed off the coast of Anacapa Island 8 miles from Port Hueneme on 31 January 2000. The flight was enroute from Puerto Vallarta to San Francisco and Seattle. All 88 passengers and crew were killed. The Sundial base has plaques for each of the passengers encircling the sundial.

Upon arrival at FAMCAMP discovered our friends whom we met last year, Denise and Phil were 2 sites down from us.It sure is good to see them again and their dog Smokey.  We are in site 90 in circle 4, a good spot, but we had problem getting the iHome positioned for the satellite..finally success.  This is our 6th time here and we put this on our favorites.

They are adding another 100 plus spaces to park to be opened sometime in next year. New area doesn't have the trees and sites are closer together.

We are going to lunch with good friends, Chuck and Rose Mary on Sunday at Cracker Barrel. Looking forward to seeing them and visiting.

On last Friday we had our Labs and Monday we have our checkups at clinic. Tuesday we are getting the Red Rock Mobile service out to wash the iHome. We were supposed to have that done at Pt Mugu, but he is not longer able to provide the wash service in the RV Park. Word has it that someone complained. That is all it takes for just 1 and everyone is effective. He did a good job and all were pleased with his service.

Have an appointment with Apple genius bar on Thursday to see if they can install OS on old lap top that I am giving to Cade. We erased all data, but could not install OS. Hopefully they will be able to fix problem.

While we are here, John has some minor repairs and re-organizing of his stuff. Also getting caught up on his website.
I am going to put some more photos ov DVD's and organize as well.  So my blog will have few entries.

From here we go to Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson on the 5 November until 24th.
