Nice Visits with Friends

11 August 2017

We had a very nice 2 days visiting friends in Salem, our old stomping grounds. This was our first time since 2015 to visit dear friends. On our way over we had the oil changed in the iHome at Hillyer's Ford in Stayton. When in the area we have them do it and the cost is very reasonable at $55 compared to other places we have used in our travels.

Our home for the next 3 nights is Emerald Valley Rv Park just off exit 244 on IH 5. The park is full and seems to have a lot of homesteaders. Sites are full hookup, but narrow. John was bothered by noise from IH5. All in all we choose this park due to the fact that it is $20/night less than other parks we have stayed in the area. Would stay here again.

We walked at Bush Park with Janet on Thursday and Friday. When we lived here, Janet and I would walk at least 3 or 4 times a week at either Minto Brown or Bush. I prefer Bush..too many snakes crossed my path at Minto and Bush is more scenic with lots of trees and flowers. Sure do miss our walks and conversation. You have been a very dear friend over the years.

In the afternoon, Barb and Lisa with their new dog, Groot stopped by. They were our neighbors on Integra. They do a lot of traveling and cruising and also have a 5th wheel. They recently bought a home in Phoenix for the winter months. Thanks for stopping by. Couldn't do a visit here without seeing you.

After walking on Friday, stopped by to visit Ellen who is now in assisted living and was also our neighbor on Integra. She will be 91 this year and looks great. Took her some flowers and had a nice visit. Got so involved, forgot to take a picture.

In the evening we met Janet at Willamette Vineyards for dinner. It is a beautiful setting overlooking the valley. Unfortunately the smoke deterred from the view. The vineyard was founded in 1983 and is 65 acres with varietals of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris.
