Drive on Hwy 12 to Missoula

03 July 2017

Before departing for Missoula, we decided on Saturday to retrace our steps back to Pasco for some signs we missed on our earlier trip.

On the way we stopped at the Palus Museum  in Dayton that has a good collection of Native American Artifacts and other exhibits.

Our drive to Missoula via Hwy 12 and over the Lolo Pass was very scenic along the Clearwater and Lochsa Rivers.

We had an incident around 40 miles east of Lewiston. As we were driving, John heard a noise and looked in the rear camera noticing the car was veering in. So he slowed to a very minimum speed, put on his flashers and looked for a place to pull over. Took about 2-3 miles to find a spot. Found that one of the towbar pins had slipped out. Fortunately he carries extras and the situation was remedied.  After 8 years and 72,000 miles  guess we are lucky that both pins did not come loose or the car would have gone bye bye. When we got to campground, jacks would not come down and wasn't until we hooked up to the power that this problem was solved. Another project for John to fix.

This is our 3rd stay at Jim and Mary's RV park just off IH90 exit 96 on Hwy 93. Highly recommend.  Quite, well maintained, friendly staff and nice sites.
