Our last days at Nellis AFB Desert Eagle RV park were spent with our friends who gather here every year and enjoying 2 barbeque get togethers. Judy and Dusty fixed a pulled pork dinner with beans and slaw. I brought a fruit salad, Donna and Larry a key lime pie. Get together was in honor of Pat and Darwin's arrival.

Last night for our departure, Pat and Darwin had a chili get together. Judy brought her famous cornbread. Donna brought cheese tray, Lynda a lemon pie and I brought an assortment of noshes. All was delicious and lots of fun. Will miss these fun gatherings for the next few months. Tried to get another group picture, but something went wrong.

Weather has been cold and windy; however, today is beautiful. As I write this, watching Pat and Darwin string lights on the pine tree next to their 5th wheel. The group gave us our Christmas card early and a darling moving solar powered snowman for the window. Thank you friends.

Tomorrow we take the iHome in for an oil change and get ready to depart for Coronado Fiddler's Cove Navy Base for a month. Then a month at Marine Base Camp Pendleton on the Del Mar beach. Looking forward to some beach time. Back here in February and March.
Have been working on our continuing trip through May of 2018. Will start planning our Alaska trip for summer of 2018 while we are at Coronado and Pendleton.
Today we are meeting Darin and Kerry for lunch at Bagel Cafe. They are in town for Kerry's brother's birthday. It was a short visit, but glad it worked out. Will not see them again until May of 2018.

Earlier in the week we made a return trip to "Salted Malted" bakery and deli to try their famous grilled cheese sandwich with canadian bacon and fresh cut fries. We met the owner at Costco and noticed she was carrying a Tim Horton's coffee cup and asked her if she brought all the way from Canada. In the course of conversation, she mentioned that she owned the only Canadian cafe in Las Vegas and that is was across the street in the Walmart shopping center. So we decided to check it out and went over for coffee and dessert. I had a cannoli and John a small pecan tart. Delicious. Thank you Cait for taking time to talk to us. We will be regular customers while in LV.
Tomorrow we are meeting Chuck and Rose Mary at Mimi's for lunch.
