Last Days With Family in Redmond,OR

01 - 07 October 2016

Our last week with Hope,Shawn and grandsons Colt and Cade..hate to say goodby, but will return in April.

Have been nursing a wretched cold and cough since last Sunday so a drive in the countryside seemed like a needed diversion and John wanted to visit an old AF Radar Station in Condon. It was a pretty day for a drive and the scenic views along the way passing John Day Fossil Beds. Our drive took us 200 miles roundtrip to a part of Oregon we had never visited coming back through Fossil and Prineville. Saw several deer and lots of wild turkeys. Hunting season opened today..sure hope the deer stay safe.

Earlier in the week we attended another of Colt's football games..unfortunately they lost. He had several good passes.

Cade and Hope spent Sunday finishing the sand dollar picture. Cade decided to do his initials. Turned out rather nice. I have collected these from trips past.

Weather is getting rainy and cold, just hope it does not snow before we depart on the 8th. Need to fill the propane and put the electric blanket on. John is getting brakes on the Malibu at Les Schwab.

Awoke on Monday morning to a beautiful view of the snow capped mountains. We have a view of Three Sisters, Broken Top, Mt Bachelor and Mt Jefferson from Hope's.

Finally got a photo of grandsons by Bounder. Below are some previous photos sincd 2009. Seems like yesterday we were present at their births in 2003 and 2006.

The grandson's entry in the Deschutes County 2016 Fair. They did very good and got $10/lb. Sorry we missed it this year.

On Tuesday we met our good friends Alinda and Ernie for lunch. They are going to Alaska this summer and looking forward their feedback. Ernie told us about a great site for info..BellsAlaska. We hope to see them again when they pass through LV. Sorry I did not get current picture, but they look even younger today.

Wednesday the 6th is Colt's birthday and he wants to go to Shari's for dinner. Happy that we are able to celebrate with him this year and that we will be back in April for Cade's birthday.
