Moving On to McChord AFB and Redmond, OR

15 September 2016

We arrived Joint Base Ft Lewis/McChord in Tacoma for 2 nights. We met up with friends Jim and Gloria for dinner at Famous Dave's. They were staying on the Ft Lewis Campground and we on McChord AFB Famcamp. This is where we met them last year. A very nice visit and hope to meet up again soon.

Sight #5

Once again we took the ferry from Coupeville to Port Townsend. It was rather costly..$85 plus the Tacoma Narrows Bridge at Gig Harbor was $12. Guess next time we will just go IH 5 via Seattle.

In checking the weather for tomorrow, we decided to depart a day early for Redmond,OR and visit with Hope and family for the next 3 weeks. It was a long drive..7 hours via IH 5 to IH 205 exit 7 across the Columbia and  exit 22 to IH 84 to Hwy 97.  The drive on the Columbia Gorge was beautiful. When we lived in Oregon, we did this drive many times.

It was so good to see Hope and the grandsons after a year. Shawn is out hunting in the Snake River area and won't be home until the 25th. When we started Rv'ing in  2009, Colt was 6 and Cade was 3. Seems like yesterday. They sure have grown. Colt is in Middle School and playing football. Cade is in his last year year of elementary. Cade and I made a Joy sign for the fence. Got the idea from all the joy signs at Whidbey.

Of course enjoying Casey and Checkers.

My Favorite Spot

Attended Colt's Obsidian Middle School football game.He is a quarterback #3. It was a good game in spite of the loss.

The property behind them is being developed with condos and homes so there is noise, dust and blasting.

The sunsets are beautiful.
