Kakabeka Falls is just 35 kilometers from the campground and well worth the visit. The falls derived from Ojibwa means thundering water. The thunderous roar of the Kaministiquia River dropping 40 meters on its way back to Lake Superior is the highest waterfall in Northern Ontario.

For centuries the falls were a challenge to peoples, explorers and voyageurs who had to portage around the steep cliffs.
Fossils 1.6 billion years have been found at the cliff's bases. There are many trails in the park as well as camping.
Another must visit in Thunder Bay.
