Arrival USMA Campground-Round Pond-West Point, NY

07 June 2016

A 6 hour drive today from Winchester to West Point via IH 81/IH 78/IH 287 to NY Thruway IH 87. Our last visit to the USMA Round Pond Campground was 3 years ago when Sweet Destiny passed over the Rainbow Bridge. We still carry her ashes with us on our journeys.

The campground sets around a lake in a wooded area. We have water and 50amp and the honey bucket for $8 comes by 2 days a week or there is a dump station.  We are in the same area next to bathhouse and laundry that we have been on 2 previous occasions. No campground WIFI (we use our ATT MIFI) and no Dish satellite and cell phone is spotty, but the price you pay for a nice campground in the woods..$20/nt.

On the drive we saw beside the road  6 road kill deer. Sure hate to see this. God bless their sweet souls.

Rain is expected for the next two days which puts a hold on some things we wanted to do. Seems this trip we have seen more rain than usual. We depart on the 11th for Glenville NY near Schenectady.

Parked across from us is the most unusual RV I have seen. It is custom built and tows a large trailer behind. Had to take a picture. I guess you classify it as a very huge Class C. Note reflections of 2 motorhomes on the side..one is ours. Can't imagine driving this.

Hoping to see a deer or bear while we are here.
