Dinner with Jim and Gloria at Blow Fly

11 April 2016

Jim and Gloria stopped by for visit. We decided to have dinner at Blow Fly Restaurant overlooking Bayou Bernard on Washington near the base. It was one of the restaurants recommended by the office. I have been wanting some good catfish.  This restaurant is a favorite among the locals and tourists. Not fancy, but the food is delicious. Catfish just melted in my mouth.  Gloria and I had this, Jim had fried oysters and John had flounder with sauce and rice. Gloria had never eaten fried pickles, so this was our appetizer.

Restaurant was recently featured on "Diners,Drive-ins and Dives" on Food network.

There is a resident alligator that hangs out with warnings not to feed.  Also some very expensive and large homes across the Bayou with boat houses. Should have gotten photos of homes, but too interested in the alligator.

We had a good time and so glad we met up with them.
