This past week involved dinner with son Eric who was in town for a meeting, major car repair involving the radiator, medical appointments, errands and a ride up to Mt Charleston. Weather is still cool in the 50's and some overcast days.
On Tuesday we met son Eric at the Luxor for dinner. Even though visit was short, sure was good seeing him again. We will see Eric and Darin again when we are in San Antonio first week of April.

Car repairs involved intake manifold gaskets, thermostat, ignition wires, spark plugs and coolant recovery tank. We found a place near the base that had good reviews called Quick. John is very impressed with their work and the price of $600. The Malibu is now 13 years old with 170,000 miles plus 61,000 tow miles. We take good care of it and want it to continue to be our tow car for a few years.
To test out the repairs, on Sunday we drove up to Mt Charleston and had lunch at The Resort at Mt Charleston on the way to the ski and snow play area at 9,000 ft. Car did very good.

Mt Charleston which is officially named Charleston Peak is the highest mountain in the Spring Mountains at 12,000 ft and the eight highest in the state. Nevada has over 314 mountain ranges. It is located 35 miles NW of Las Vegas. It is a popular spot for getaways both in summer and winter. Parking was a big issue, so we just drove by the snow play areas and got a few pictures. Kids and adults were having fun playing in the snow.
