Seal Watch

11 November 2015

Today I along with several others in the campground watched over an injured Elephant Seal that had come ashore sometime during the night and was injured. One of the campers said that the day before they had spotted a fishing boat offshore that brought a large object on board and it appeared that they gaffed it before releasing it. Jim, one of the very knowledgeable campers knew the right people to call..Sea World Rescue. The seal was tagged, so feel it had been released by Sea World.

Wanted to  Pet Her
This all started in the morning and was not until afternoon that Sea World came to rescue. They were busy on other rescues.Thank goodness they appeared as the poor seal could not have made it through the night. Felt so sorry for her and wanted badly to hug and give her comfort, but that is not advisable. At least we made sure she wasn't disturbed.
Please Help Me!!!
Trying to be Comfortable

In spite of all the bad press Sea World is getting,if not for them she would have surely died a lingering death.

Thank you Jim for calling them and Sea World for the rescue. Will follow up in a few days to see how she is doing.

On another note: A special thank you to all who have and are serving in our military. Especially my husband John who served 22 years in the Air Force and my son, Darin who served in the Air Force for 4 years.
