Another drive today to MT Lemmon for the purpose of riding the chair lift which only operates on Thursday-Monday to the top of MT Lemmon at 9200 ft in order to visit an old AFS radar site that closed in the 60's and has since been repurposed as the University of Arizona Steward Observatory. Behind the scenes tours showing how UA scientists are producing the world's largest telescope mirrors are given Monday-Friday by reservation . We may go back for this tour. The day was very windy and temperatures at the top were in the 40's.

We then went into Summerhaven to have lunch at The Pizza and Cookie Cafe. Very good, but pricey.
The homemade cookies are the size of a paper plate.
Of course, had to stop at the General Store for homemade fudge.

When we returned as we were doing our evening walk, thought I saw a couple we met 3 years ago at Wright Patterson AFB.
Checked my recent email from Connie and Ken and sure enough this is one of their stops. Emailed and yes, it was them so we will meet again tomorrow for Freedom RV's St Patrick Day complimentary lunch at the campground.
