2 February 2015
Since my last posting, we have enjoyed another lunch with Rose Mary and Chuck at Brio located in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas.A very nice Tuscan restaurant with delicious food and pleasant atmosphere. Of course, we always enjoy getting together with them and look forward to our next culinary delight.
We have also spent past several weeks at the medical clinic on base getting our annual checkups. I am now on BP and Cholesterol medications. John is doing good, but we both need more exercise and to lose weight so our PA referred us to the nutrition clinic which we will attend today. I am also reading "Wheat Belly" and will order the cookbook. Believe that by cutting wheat from your diet which is very hard to do, you can also lose weight.
I have managed to organize most of the recovered photos by putting all the family into iPhoto manager and just keeping our last 6 years of RV travel photos into iPhoto which amounts to around 13,000. Still a work in progress. Fortunately I have my blog to help idenify by name and place.
We got a good rainstorm last week and the weather has been cooler than last year, but temps are expected to rise. We hope on this trip to drive up to MT Charleston.
Last night we were invited over to Joyce and Bob's to watch the Super Bowl along with Bill and Loraine and their precious greyhound, Misty. Misty is so quiet and affectionate..the perfect dog except for sweet Destiny. Joyce and Bob have a beautiful 45 ft Holiday Ramler with all the conveniences and very high tech. They are also full time. Joyce introduced me to the "Wheat Belly"
way of eating. We watched the first half on their outdoor TV and then we went in for dessert. We were all disappointed in the outcome. Thank you for including us and the hot wings and food was delicious.
Oh yes, the Thunderbirds flew over the campground on their return from Phoenix and the Super Bowl flyover. A beautiful sight to see. Should have taken my camera. Perused some pictures from last year so will repost. Red Flag is in progress until next week,so they are not flying as much.
Today we are going to Aliante to see "American Sniper". Learned today that Governor Abbott of Texas has issued a proclamation that 2 February is Chris Kyle Day.
