Our blog is to keep family and friends informed of our motorhome journeys.
We have dreamed of this for many years and finally our dream has come true.
We are looking forward to many happy miles ahead.

Icefields Parkway Drive-Jasper to Lake Louise

29 June 2014

Our drive from Valemount to Canmore took us on Hwy 5 to 16 to 93 in Jasper which is the Icefields Parkway considered to be one of the 10 most scenic drives in the world. I would probably rate it #1 or #2. The parkway travels through the Jasper and Banff National Parks in the Canadian Rockies for a total of 142 miles. In Lake Louise you then pick up TC 1 to Canmore.

Our weather today was not good for great photos due to clouds and intermittent rain. We plan to return later on a sunny day.
No wild animal sightings today, but some awesome scenery. The Parkway affords magnificent views of glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, hiking trails and a new addition is the "Glacier Skywalk" which can be booked at the Glacier Discovery Center. www.glacierskywalk.ca. We plan to do this on our return. Please allow at least 3 hours or more to do this drive and take advantage of stops along the way, many of which we did previously. www.icefieldsparkway.com

I cannot begin to name all the glaciers, mountains and lakes in the photos. Included some of the better ones.
