Drive to KOA in Richmond VA

10 May 2013

We were orginally supposed to stay here 7 nights, but decided since we had been toured the area  last year to go instead to Williamsburg. We were able to get reservation at  Yorktown NWS at the Kings Creek Campground.

Our drive from Sumter up IH95 took 6/1/2 hrs with stops. Since we got gas at Shaw $3.17/gal we only had to stop for the VA welcome center and picnic lunch.

The drive up IH 95 when we got into NC was very nice with all the wildflower areas along the highway.

We are staying at a very nice KOA north of Richmond. As it turns out we have one night free due to a promotion.Sites are gravel, full hook ups and very nice and quiet with a large dog run.

Tomorrow we will cover some areas we missed last year.
