I first met Freda when living in California in 1964. We last met in 1984 on her visit to San Antonio. Seems over the years we have lost contact until our trip near Ventura this month. Too long to go between visits.
Her husband, Ken, and my former husband,Dan, worked together as air traffic controllers. We played pinocle several times a week. Have not played since leaving California for Texas in 1970. Can't even remember how to play. Sadly,Ken has passed.
Her home is filled with many antiques collected over the years. She and Ken were avid collectors acquiring through garage sales, flea markets and stores. Some very unusual and priceless pieces. Upon entering her home you get a very warm and inviting reception.
We went to lunch at "Danny's Deli and Grill". I would classify it as a Jewish Deli. I had the corned beef sandwich and John an eggplant sandwich. We decided to share. Very good. We departed with the promise of getting together again before we leave Point Mugu end of month.
Freda,I must say,you look great.Thank you for a great visit.
