Our blog is to keep family and friends informed of our motorhome journeys.
We have dreamed of this for many years and finally our dream has come true.
We are looking forward to many happy miles ahead.

Arrival PT Mugu NWS,CA

1 December 2012

A short 100 mile drive from Vandenberg AFB on 101. This will be our home for the next month.

The base is known as Naval Base Ventura County and is an air station and construction battalion center and consists of Point Mugu,Port Hueneme and San Nicolas Island. It is also the largest employer of Ventura County with 19,000 base personnel civilian and military.

Point Mugu was used by President Reagan during his visits to his ranch in Santa Barbara.

Our site is #119 on the ocean. A  bargain for $30/day with full hookups and great view. Leave our windows open at night and listen to the waves as we go to sleep. Even saw some some dolphins. Many sandpipers on the beach.

Lonely Sandpiper

Tried to get a dolphin photo, but between my eyesight and their speed did not get a very good one. Oh well, 30 days left to try.

Our next home will be at Seal Beach Naval Station less than 100 miles. We will be there the month of January. With these short drives and long stays we should be able to go over 2 months before gassing up the RV. Gas is less in California than we expected averaging around $3.65/gal.
